What Instagram's own controls do

Instagram has no setting that removes Explore. You can mark individual posts as not interesting, which teaches the ranking a slightly different taste in the same endless grid, and you can limit suggested content in your feed, which leaves the Explore tab where it is. The tab itself stays.
