Reelmute

Their phone. Your rules. From your phone.

Reelmute Family takes Reels, Shorts and For You off your kid's phone and leaves the rest of Instagram, YouTube and TikTok working: DMs, search, subscriptions, friends. You set which feeds go, whether the real apps are locked, how many minutes a day and when the phone sleeps, all from your own phone. Taking an app off the lock needs your minutes, not theirs.

Their feeds off tonight. Set from your phone.

Reelmute Family is $5.99 a month for the parent. The kid's phone pays nothing.

Set up in one minute, no shared account

Open Family on your phone and tap Add a kid. It shows a six-letter code. On their phone they install Reelmute, pick "A parent set it up" and type the code. That is the pairing: no email, no Family Sharing, no password to remember. The code works once and expires after twelve hours.

What you see

Their minutes per network, each day, on your phone. A lock that is armed shows as armed. When they want time in a locked app they ask, you decide how many minutes, and you can say no.

Why it holds

An app blocker takes their messages with it, so it gets negotiated away the first evening. Reelmute removes the feed and keeps the messages, which is why they keep it. The real apps are shielded with Screen Time on iPhone and the app lock on Android, and lifting that shield needs minutes you grant. Adding apps to the lock never needs anyone.

Your iPhone, their Android, or the other way round

Reelmute Family pairs across platforms. Everything between the two phones crosses our relay sealed, and the relay holds nothing it can read.

Price

Reelmute Family is $5.99 a month for the parent. The kid's phone pays nothing and sees no paywall.

How do I block TikTok on my child's iPhone?

Pair their phone with Reelmute Family, switch the lock on for TikTok and the real app closes behind Screen Time. TikTok inside Reelmute opens with For You gone, so search and messages keep working and there is nothing to fight over.

Can I turn off YouTube Shorts on my kid's phone?

Yes. Shorts are removed from YouTube on their phone from the moment you pair; subscriptions, search and playlists stay.

Can my kid switch it off?

Taking an app off the lock, or switching the lock off, needs minutes you grant. Adding apps to the lock never does.

Does it work if my kid has Android and I have an iPhone?

Yes. Any mix of iPhone and Android on either side.

What does my kid see?

Instagram, YouTube and TikTok inside Reelmute with the feeds gone, their DMs and search kept, and their minutes for the day. No ads, no paywall.

What does it cost?

Reelmute Family is $5.99 a month on the parent's phone. The kid's side is free.
